Catch details for week ending June 28 – Day ticket: Fewston 20, Swinsty 4, Thruscross (catch & return) 1; total fish caught: Fewston 121, Swinsty 120lb, Thruscross 4; average per rod: Swinsty 4, Swinsty 30lb, Thruscross 4. The heaviest fish caught was a 5lb rainbow trout by Richard Earl using mayfly. Fewston: Blue and rainbow trout still rising to take the last few mayfly blown over the surface. Swinsty: A good bag of summer bream midweek (150lb) taken on feeder and mixed maggot. Thruscross: Perfect conditions this week as wild brown trout top taking mayfly and nymph as they emerge. Catch details for month ending June 28 – Day ticket: Fewston 127, Swinsty 17, Thruscross (catch & return) 2; total fish caught: Fewston 726, Swinsty 330lb plus, Thruscross 8; average per rod: Fewston 5.7, Swinsty 20lb, Thruscross 4. The heaviest fish caught were 6lb rainbows by John Cross using GRHE and R Turner using mayfly nymph. Fewston: Mayfly and nymph have kept trout well fed all month, that's the bonus of high-water levels. Swinsty: Anglers now enjoying coarse fishing and bag sizes have increased as the weather warms. Thruscross: Good sport in truly wild settings. Brown trout small and perfect in condition.

BRADFORD No 1 AA

Result of the 3½-hour junior match at Raskelf: 1 Sam Taylor 26lb 4oz of F1 carp on waggler and maggot, 2 Morgan Freer 20lb 6oz, 3 Kara Sugden 14lb. Under-11s competition: 1 Reece Harrison (2014 winner) 14lb 8oz, 2 Evan Thornton 11lb 8oz. The next junior match will take place on Saturday, July 25, also at Raskelf. Result of Sunday's committee match at Raskelf: 1 Andy Fox 70lb of F1s on method feeder, 2 Paul Hopkins 51lb 14oz, 3 Simon Freer 47lb 7oz, 4 Matt Foster 37lb 2oz. Biggest fish trophy: Nick Freer 4lb 10oz (tench). This year's Calder League begins on Sunday, meaning that some of the club's stretches of the River Calder will be closed. The match will draw at the Railway Inn, Brighouse at 9am. Beal will be closed next Wednesday for an outside booking. Shelf Dam is fishing very well for bream, with nets in excess of 50lb being caught on waggler.

Result of Sunday's fifth match of eight-match Craven Summer League on the Long Ing length of the canal at Barnoldswick (fished in a blustery wind with intermittent heavy drizzle): 1 Kenny Wright 1550g (3:6:8), 2 Graeme Waterfall 1150g (2:8:8), 3 Andrew Thomas 800g (1:12:0), 4 Bill Davenport 550g (1:3:8), 5 Andy Wharton 440g (0:15:8), 6 Ernest Ramsbotham 410g (0:14:8). Most catches comprised of an average-sized roach, perch and skimmer bream, while one angler landed a smallish jack pike. Latest standings: 1 Richard Thornton 60 pts, 2 Simon Chenior 57, 3 Graeme Waterfall 56, 4 Ernest Ramsbotham 55, 5 Andrew Thomas 48, 6 Mark Bradley 43. The next match will be on the notorious Church Pool length of the canal at East Marton on Sunday, July 19.
