THE inaugural Airedale & Pennine Motor Car Club production car autotest at the Richard Dunn sports centre – the first of a six-round series – has been hailed as a great success.
Following Bradford Council's initiative to draw enthusiastic drivers into organised motorsport, Airedale & Pennine pitched their two tests on the shale Odsal football pitch at the right difficulty.
There were five rounds of two tests for the ten entrants, each of which were attempted twice, with the worst score being discarded, giving 20 runs for £10 over the two-hour span.
Rupert North's Mini was several seconds in front of a gaggle of Saxos – not a bad effort for someone who is more at home in trials.
The next round of the series is on Thursday, November 20 and further details can be found at www.apmcc.co.uk or by contacting John Rhodes on 07913-649131.
