Chris Jones caught 41lb 6oz of F1’s and ide on feeder to finish second on the day with John Walsh catching 34lb 7oz for third. Some sections of the River Calder will be closed this Sunday for the penultimate round of this year’s Calder League, along with Roecliffe for an outside booking. Chellow Dene is fishing well for skimmers and roach on feeder or waggler. The River Swale at Maunby and Thornton Bridge are worth a visit for chub and barbel.

Fewston: Blue and rainbow trout now taking traditional wet flies as they feed on the abundant source. Swinsty: Perch, roach and bream taking trotted worm, with perch also chasing the spinner. Thruscross: Heather fly and black ant now big on the menu for wild brown trout.
