Raskelf Lake will be closed on Sunday for the final round of the Raskelf Winter Series. Draw at the Golden Lion in Helperby is 9am. All of the club’s stretches of river are currently closed for the relevant closed seasons but some stretches reopen on Monday for the trout season. Members are reminded that only fly, minnow, worm and artificial lure are allowed to be used on these stretches until the coarse season opens on June 16. Chellow Dene and Willow Hall will both be worth a visit this weekend for roach, chub and ide on float or feeder.

The highlight of the club’s annual awards night was the presentation of the prestigious clubman of the year award, voted by all the members. We have had to rename the trophy club person of the year as this year’s winner was Dorothy Kitchingman. This was for raising a record amount of raffle money throughout the year – double what we normally collect. Our first trip of the year will be to Rhyl on Wednesday, May 22. Any member wishing to go should telephone Dave on 07711-987833.
