Bradford's Amanda Ward is making big strides in thai boxing.
The Thorpe Edge woman has been involved in the sport for almost three years but after losing her first two professional bouts, she moved to the Golden Team Gym in Beeston, Leeds, and has won her last three fights.
A first-round victory was followed by success against the Portuguese No 1, who had 20 contests under her belt and is the world K1 champion, and lastly came a win against the Irish No 1, Amanda also winning in the opening round.
She said: "I donated the prize-money from my last fight to help a two-year-girl from Seacroft called Kendall Jessop.
"She had the operation yesterday and they have managed to remove 95 per cent of the cancer."
Next up for Amanda, who trains six times a week, only missing out on Wednesdays, is a fight for a five-nation title at Exrercise For Less at Kirkstall, Leeds.
She added: "It's a long drive to training every day but the results are rewarding. Now I am hoping to fight in the Baltic Open in Latvia on April 25-28 but need a sponsor."
Anyone who can help Amanda can contact her on 07716-684709.
