BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC

A big thank you to all members who badgered their MPs and voted to end fishing discards. Last week the European Parliament voted to end this practice and without your vote it would never have happened. All members who won trophies last year are reminded that they must be returned for our next general meeting so that we can get them engraved, ready for our presentation evening in March. The trip calendar for 2013 has now been finalised and a copy will be distributed at our next meeting, which is this coming Tuesday. Subs are now due, priced at £10 once again this year. Anyone who would like to do some inshore fishing at Whitby or the Mersey in the coming months should telephone Dave on 07711-987833.

Maunby, Gatenby and Catton will all be closed tomorrow for a River Swale Preservation Society match. Membership for 2013 is still available from all the usual outlets, and a reminder that 2012 members have until the end of 2013 to renew without paying the joining fee, but this must be done prior to fishing. Chellow Dene is fishing well for roach and chub. Also, Milby Cut Canal should be worth a visit this weekend for roach, perch and dace, with the River Calder also producing good catches of grayling. Anglers are requested not to lean on or rest tackle on the otter fences at Raskelf, Ripon and Knotford.
