Bradford No 1 continue to dominate Division One of the Yorkshire Inter-District Snooker League after a 4-2 victory against Sheffield No 1 at Undercliffe Cricket Club.

They have now won all five of their matches and lead the table by eight points.

Wayne Cooper continued his 100 per cent record for Bradford No 1 this campaign, making a break of 48 in his opening-frame defeat of Jason Evans (104-18), followed by a 66-29 success to put the hosts 2-0 up.

Captain Kevin Firth started well with a break of 44, but opponent Tom Priest was in good form, having breaks of 31 and 35 to snatch a frame back 90-48.

The second frame was a little disjointed, with missed opportunities from both players, but Evans levelled the match, taking the pink for a 63-53 win.

In the final match, Bradford's Mark Slater was in superb form against Joe Priest, breaks of 43 in the first (84-29) and 52 in the second (91-21) guaranteeing yet another victory for the league leaders.

In Division Three, Bradford No 2 had an excellent home victory against Huddersfield at Manningham Ward, and also top the table after their 6-0 whitewash.

Tanveer Mohammed set the team on their way, winning the first frame 83-27, and a break of 49 assisted in taking the second 71-10 against R Tunnacliffe.

Boover Singh continued the good form, winning 51-29 and 75-5 against Rick Needham, while Hanif Rafiq gave Michael Whaley little chance, a break of 88 aiding a 96-1 first-frame win 96-1 and he took the second 64-38.

In billiards, Bradford gained another valuable victory at Great Horton Cons, winning 4-3 against Huddersfield No 1.

Matthew Peaker made a run of 36 for Huddersfield and led Bradford champion Stephen Kershaw 102-68, before another good break, this time a 50, eased the visitors to a 200-92 win.

Paul Devitt started in fine style for Bradford, breaks of 33 and 45 seeing him lead Steve Whiteley 118-13 and he went on to complete the victory 200-124.

John McEachran then made a run of 38 and looked good for the extra point at 184-141, but oppponent Dave Peaker made a break of 41 and almost snatched victory, McEachran eventually running out a 200-194 winner.

The side are in action again on Saturday when they travel to Doncaster.

Because of the proximity to Christmas, it has been decided that the Moorhouse Shield will be put back from next Thursday and will now be played on Thursdays January 10 and 17
