Injury-hit Bradford Dragons must shrug off a heavy defeat in last weekend’s double-header as they travel to Derby Trailblazers tomorrow night.

The Dragons edged out Medway Park Crusaders 68-65 but then ran out of steam and slumped 79-61 to Hemel Storm the next day to leave them third in vcars.co.uk Division One with five wins and two defeats to date.

They have already faced Derby in the National Trophy this season and came out on top in the October clash.

It was a close game but Bradford managed to claim the win on the back of a big performance from Bobby Edmunds.

The American guard posted 20 points and was assisted by fellow countryman Mark Saladzius, who scored 16 points in the 73-65 success.

Derby have not had their usual good start to the season and currently lie ninth in the league with three wins and five losses.

They have had to bring in an almost completely new squad of players after key members such as Rishi Kakad and Troy Whittington moved on to new clubs.

But results have recently started going their way and they have won their last two games against Brixton Topcats and Worthing Thunder.

The Dragons must overcome the long-term loss of injured duo Daumants Pabrieza and Rihards Sulcs if they are to put an end to that resurgence.

The game against Derby takes place at Moorways Leisure Centre and tips off at 7.30pm.

Meanwhile, the Dragons’ women have their own double-header weekend as they face Mansfield Giants in the league tomorrow and Cardiff Archers Seconds in the Trophy on Sunday.

Both games will be at Bradford College and tip off at 6.15pm and 12.30pm respectively.

Dragons Seconds men take on Stockport Spartans at Bradford College tomorrow afternoon (4.15pm).

The under-18s welcome Rotherham Hawks for league action, with both the under-16s and under-14s travelling to face the Eagles at York College.
