BRADFORD CITY AA

All the association’s waters are producing good-quality nets of fish and are well worth a visit this week. Members are asked to take extra care when fishing our waters during the expected bad weather. All cars should be parked sensibly and well away from the lakeside at both Shipton and Staveley to ensure pathways are kept clear. Anyone fishing at Brampton Farm should now park away from the stock pens and buildings. There is plenty of space at the top of the yard. The next match is on Sunday at Brampton Farm, not Lower Dunsforth as in the yearbook. The draw will take place in the farmyard at 8.30am, with tickets costing £15 all in. For further details contact match secretary Rod Brooksbank on 07875-275749 or 01423-523368.

BRADFORD & DISTRICT SEA AC

We have a trip to Liverpool this Sunday. There are a few places left so if anybody would like to go, either member or non-member, call Dave on 07711-987833 to book a place. Our next meeting, which is at the New Inn, East Bierley, on Tuesday, December 18 from 8pm, will be our Christmas Cheer get-together. This features a giant raffle, in which each member brings a prize to be included, and a buffet. New anglers will be made most welcome. Latest news from Whitby is that Richard Ward’s boat ‘Shytorque 2000’ last week caught a very good cod of 21lb 10oz. The captor was Kev Gillings from Bradford.

LISTERHILLS AA

Membership books for 2013 will be available from all the usual outlets and also, for the first time, from Pudsey Angling Centre within the next week. Work is in progress on the paths and lower parking area at Pilley’s. Sunday’s match produced joint-winners in W Barker and E Harrison. Contributions to the prize list came from the club president and G Reeday. After several blank sessions, C Green had two good pike from Pilley’s, the best weighing 23lb. Otherwise sport has been slow but should improve as the fish acclimatise to the cold water.

BRADFORD No1 AA

The first round of the Raskelf Winter Series, scheduled for last Sunday, was called off due to the lake being frozen. Cowthorpe on the River Nidd is closed on Sunday for our open match, with tickets still available from Simon on 01274-571175. With river levels expected to be back around normal, the River Swale at Thornton Bridge, Maunby and Catton should all be worth a visit this weekend for chub. Milby Cut Canal and the Aire & Calder Canal should produce good catches of roach and dace.

HEWENDEN AC

Congratulations to P Garland, the winner of the last pike match with a catch of 11lb 2oz. The next coarse match is on Sunday. This will be the Christmas Cheer match, with a 9am draw in the car park. It costs £10 all in and all members are welcome.

BINGLEY AC

The new object floating on Coppice Pond is going to be a fish refuge. Check out our website forum at www.bingleyanglingclub.co.uk for details. River levels are dropping and, with a bit of colour, should be worth a try this weekend.

SALTAIRE AA
