Bingley Bees' first team travelled to Huddersfield Dragons Fourths in good spirits for their Yorkshire Men's Division Six North contest after winning their previous three matches.

As is usual for them now, the visitirs started strongly and found the net after just 54 seconds when Jack Matthews turned the ball in at the far post past the flailing keeper.

Despite some good midfield work, the Bees could not extend their lead and paid the price in the last minute of the first half when they conceded the equaliser.

The second half then got off to a bad start, with Dragons taking the lead after just five minutes.

A long disruption to the game a few minutes later, following an off-field incident, gave Bees skipper Ben Clough some time to rally the team.

Ater the restart, they turned in some excellent possession hockey, moving the ball around accurately and at speed.

The equaliser eluded them, however, and a breakaway goal four minutes from the end put paid to their winning run.

Bingley Bees first team notched their third draw in five matches after being held 3-3 at Harrogate Seconds in the Yorkshire Women's Premier Division.

it left the Bees third from bottom with three points, although bottom two Otliensians (one point) and York University (none) both have two games in hand.

In Yorkshire Women's Division Four, Bingley Seconds lost 3-0 in their home derby against Pudsey.

The Bees hosts did not have their regular keeper, reserve Michelle McCulloch-Clarke stepping in from her usual position as left defender.

Pudsey took a swift lead, catching the Bees on the back foot.

The visitors controlled the first half with a display of aggressive teamwork but the Bees did have opportunities to equalise, only to be denied by constructive defensive play.

Pudsey continued to have the upper hand, showing skill and agility but also, on the other side of the coin, theatrical injuries and profanities.

Pudsey led 2-0 at half-time but it was the bhome team who were warned by the umpires for hostile play.

The game settled down, however, both teams playing good hockey in the second half.

Pudsey scored a third goal to seal their win, but McCulloch-Clarke had an outstanding match, confirming to her club and peers that she excels in both positions, and was the Bees' player of the match.
