CITY’S impressive finish to the season has been acknowledged with Graham Alexander and Brad Halliday both nominated for League Two’s last monthly awards.
Alexander is on the short-list for manager of the month after steering the Bantams to 16 points from a possible 18 in their final six games.
After salvaging a late draw at Grimsby to start April, City went on to beat Gillingham, Salford, Walsall, Barrow and Newport.
Alexander is up against Grant McCann, who led Doncaster’s charge into the play-offs, Dave Challinor of champions Stockport and former Valley Parade chief Phil Parkinson after Wrexham’s promotion.
Halliday is in the player-of-the-month category to cap an excellent personal campaign.
The defender was named in League Two’s team of the year and last week picked up six prizes at the club’s award ceremony, including player of the year and players’ player.
Halliday is in the running with Stockport’s Paddy Madden, Paul Mullin of Wrexham and Harrogate midfielder George Thomson.
Both winners will be announced on Friday morning.
