Eliot Peposhi has just signed a two-year contract extension with Bradford Bulls until the end of 2026, admitting he wants to be part of the club’s return to Super League after over a decade away.

Peposhi, 19, initially joined the club on trial in pre-season, with the young forward instantly impressing and penning a permanent stay until the end of 2024 in January.

His competitive bow came in February in the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup clash with Dewsbury Rams, where he also made history by becoming the club’s first ever ‘18th man’ substitution.

But he only played one more game, a Betfred Challenge Cup third-round victory over North Wales Crusaders, before suffering a sternum injury.

That kept the former St Helens junior out of action until Sunday’s trip to York, where he scored late on in his Betfred Championship debut in a 25-14 defeat.

Peposhi has spoken of his determination to play his part in an exciting era for the club under head coach Eamon O’Carroll.

He said: “I am really happy, I have really enjoyed my time here so far and to get another two years I am really delighted with that.

“I have been putting it all in since I came here and I am really happy to get another contract and hopefully we can continue the good form we have started the season with.

“I backed myself when I left Saints and it’s paid off, I’m playing in the Championship and I’m loving it.

“I was talking to (Bulls CEO) Jason Hirst and he said he won’t stop until the club is back in Super League so that’s really good to hear and hopefully I can be a part of that if we do get there.

“It’s every kids dream to play Super League and if Bradford get there, which I believe we can do, it will be amazing.”

O’Carroll insists there is a lot more to come from Peposhi in Bradford colours, as he praised the teenager’s attitude and willingness to learn.

The Bulls head coach said: “Eliot is a great kid, he loves being here at Bradford.

“He was really unlucky getting a chest injury which kept him out for a period or he’d have played more games.

“He’s fantastic, he will play a lot of Championship games this year and he’s willing to learn having been in a good environment at St Helens.

“It was an easy deal to get done and he wants to carry on being a Bradford Bulls player which is fantastic.

“We’re still in discussions with a number of players, as well as looking to recruit for next year and the year after.

“Eliot was one of those but there are further discussions going on with the players, where we want them to commit their long term-future to the club.”

Peposhi was originally 18th man for the game at York, only to be promoted to the interchange bench after a late hamstring injury to Dan Smith.

The teenager will be eyeing up a place in the matchday 17 this weekend too, as Widnes head to Odsal on Sunday for round six of the Championship season.
