Bradford Mutual Sunday School League Group A leaders Cambing were made to fight all the way for their win over Muff Field in a close encounter.

Muff Field made 217-5, with Stephen Broadbent making 73 and Ibby Bismillah 74 not out, but Cambing passed the score with eight wickets down, Mohammed Ubid their top scorer with 88.

Cambing increased their lead at the top to ten points after nearest challengers BPR lost to Omars by two wickets, while third-placed Heaton could only manage a two-point losing draw against fourth-placed Bradford Gymkhana A, who moved up to second spot.

Gymkhana A made 212-6, with Shehzad Khalid making 44 and Fiaz Khan 41 not out, before Heaton held out for a draw on 188-9, Khalid Mir top-scoring with 65 and Mohammed Shoaib taking 5-47.

Yorkshire LPS beat Bradford Gymkhana B to send them down. Gymkhana B made 135 all out (Nitesh Patel 5-27), a score which LPS passed with four wickets down, Mukesh Patel making 77.

In Group B, Hallfield clinched promotion to Group after a one-wicket win over Mayfield. Adam Beesley scored 67 not out in Mayfield’s 146 all out before Hallfield reached their target by the finest of margins, Wasim Attkari taking 5-53.

Heaton need one point to join them after their seven-wicket win over Mandhata.

Paul Cutherbertson made 128 for Odsal in their big victory over Buttershaw St Paul’s, who are now relegated, while Anthony Moss made 100 for Great Horton Meths as they thrashed Cross Roads & Daisy Hill Meths by 154 runs.

Cutherbertson shared a 128-run second-wicket partnership with Keith Holdworth as Odsal racked up 217-3 , Dan Jackson also making 47. In reply, Vipal Sharma took 6-24 to dismiss Buttershaw for 46.

David Stead (69) added to Moss’s 100 and saw Great Horton Meths make 225-7 against Daisy Hill, for whom Chris Hartley took 4-49 before Hill were all out for 71.

West Bowling joined Bowling Baptist in clinching promotion from Group C after they defeated Muff Field by 117 runs.

Joe A’Hearn scored 47 for West Bowling and Mohammed Rafiq took 6-10. For Muff Field, Stuart Morrison claimed 5-33.

Bowling Baptist defeated Mayfield by ten wickets. There are still only eight points between the top two teams and they are scheduled to meet on September 4.

Elsewhere in Group C, Bradford Indians defeated Central YMCA after Kapel Chochan scored 79 not out and Vijay Vempati took 4-6 for YMCA. Andy Merideth claimed 4-45.

Cambing defeated a depeleted Cross Roads & Daisy Hill Meths team after Pravar Agrawal made 117 and Siby Raghavan 50. Then Ankur Verma took 5-19.
