Bradford Premier League Championship A leaders Batley made it four wins from four games as they secured a two-wicket win at Baildon with five balls to spare.

Their latest success was set up by the bowling of Aqsad Ali (4-33) and Muhammad Tahir (4-39) as Baildon were restricted to 168-9 when they batted first.

Skipper Simon Bailey (47) and Jonny Reynolds (35) led the way for the Jenny Laners but Batley eased home thanks to

Ali (39no) and Tariq Hussain (38).

Overseas player Tanzeel Altaf is proving a big hit for Saltaire. The former Cleckheaton all-rounder smashed 99 off just 90 balls as the Roberts Park club defeated Idle by 131 runs. Altaf struck eight sixes and four fours as he helped his second-placed side make 208 at Cavendish Road. Altaf Mohammad was the best of the Idle bowlers with 3-54.

Idle tumbled to 77 all out as Saltaire skipper Michael Eglin (4-22) and leg spinner Altaf (3-19) posed problems. Only Tom Johnson (34) resisted for long.

Hard-hitting opener Jake Wray (53) and the experienced Damon Gormley (48no) helped Yeadon overhaul Liversedge's total of 173-9 and record their third win. Liversedge's top scorer was Alan Sumner (47) as they were made to battle for their runs by Michael Hunter (3-42) and Oliver Halliday (3-44).

During his innings of 26, Yeadon's James Goldthorp completed 10,000 Bradford League runs. He is the 39th player to achieve the feat and that list includes his brother John, who made 11,056 runs in his career.

Birstall are one of four clubs still seeking their first win after suffering a one-wicket defeat in a nail-biting finish against Hunslet Nelson.

Alexander Debs (59) and Nick Kaye (52no) helped take Birstall to 194-8, but Nelson timed their reply well and won with an over to spare thanks to Christopher Anderson (65), Andrew McIntosh (44) and Suleman Mohammed (33no). Kamran Khan (3-19) and Debs (3-55) tried their hardest but Birstall were pipped at the post.

Experienced left-armer Craig Wiseman delivered a match-winning performance as Undercliffe secured a slender eight-run win over ten-man Ossett.

Toby Thorpe (81), Gulsheraz Ahmed (60) and Michael Loubser (33) helped Undercliffe post a score of 225-8 which earned them maximum batting points despite the best efforts of Khalid Usman (5-56).

Undercliffe wrapped up a 20-point success by claiming the last Ossett wicket with one ball to spare after the visitors had made a brave bid to secure their first success of the season.

Khalid Usman (55), Shabir Rashid (44), Tamoor Saghir (33) and Javid Umarji (31) carried the fight to Undercliffe, but Wiseman (5-72) and dependable young spinner Amir Hussain (3-55) ensured that Ossett didn't deprive their side of victory.
