THE Bradford League is to be sponsored by a company owned by one of its best-known players.

All Rounder Cricket Equipment, whose managing director Chris Taylor opens the batting for Lightcliffe, take over as title sponsors from JCT600, who have been loyal backers of the league for nine years.

It means the competition will now be known as the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League.

The competition recently doubled in size following a merger with the Central Yorkshire League, working towards accreditation as an ECB Premier League.

All Rounder have been title sponsors of the Central Yorkshire League for the past two years.

Former Yorkshire and Derbyshire batsmen Taylor said: "Having played in the Bradford Cricket League from a very young age, it is now a great honour for my company, All Rounder Cricket, to become the headline sponsor of the world renowned league.

"I am delighted that we can help support both the Bradford Premier League and its member clubs as they enter an exciting new era of Premier League cricket in West Yorkshire."

League chairman David Young added: "It is extremely pleasing to have a new sponsor who understands the league's aims and ambitions following its merger with the Central Yorkshire League and its progress towards becoming an ECB Premier League.

"We look forward to working with All Rounder and we thank JCT600 for their loyal and valued backing over the past nine seasons."

All Rounder Cricket Equipment have established themselves as one the largest cricket retailers in the country, with a huge store at Headingley adjacent to the Indoor Cricket School.

Yorkshire and England star Joe Root is due to open their brand new megastore just north of Sheffield today.
