IT WAS good to be back in the team and back on the scoresheet at Hunslet last week. I got a chance and I just had to take it with both hands.

When I got dropped for the recent matches against Workington, Batley and Featherstone, I just had to come back stronger.

I had to keep working hard on the aspects of my game that needed improving in order to force my way back in.

I have played on the wing for the Bulls for most of the season and I had a couple of things to work on.

Jimmy wanted me to do more and that's why I didn't play in the past couple of weeks before the Hunslet game.

I've still got a few things to further improve and have just got to continue playing well to hopefully keep my spot.

Omari Caro has come into the squad this week but competition for places can only be a good thing for the club as we look to win promotion back to Super League.

Winning so comfortably last weekend was a pleasing response all round to the way we lost at home to Featherstone a few days earlier.

Jake Mullaney dominated the headlines for his awesome display and rightly so. He scored four tries and had a hand in a few others – but then Jake always seems to play well.

As long as he's 100 per cent fit, he will play really well and it's good to see him back and scoring tries.

It's Sheffield Eagles this week and another old club of mine.

I went there on loan towards the end of last season and enjoyed a very successful spell with Mark Aston and the boys there.

It gave me a new lease of life from Featherstone and I think I scored eight tries in as many games for the Eagles.

We won every game and it was good playing in the centres because you get the ball more.

It's always good to play against your old team-mates and I still keep in touch with a lot of them.

It's going to be another tough game and we just have to step up in terms of intensity as we approach the Super Eights.
