The Bulls have today announced a link-up with Championship club Dewsbury Rams.

The “twinning” agreement will allow Glenn Morrison’s side to tap into the Odsal players that cannot get a game in Super League.

Bulls will also get first pick on any decent prospects in the Rams ranks.

The teams plan to share joint training sessions in pre-season and the Rams will be allowed to use the Bulls facilities at Tong.

There will also be an amateur link between the local clubs in both areas as well as plans to let Bulls fans watch games at the Tetley’s Stadium at a reduced cost and vice versa.

Bradford coach Francis Cummins said: “We are delighted with this partnership with the Rams. Glenn Morrison is a highly-rated coach and I’m looking forward to working with him in developing players for both clubs.

“There was a natural synergy with Dewsbury as we already have a partnership with them through our lottery. I’m sure the benefits of this arrangement will be felt at both clubs and in the amateur game.”

Super League clubs with a “green”-rated academy side are permitted to twin with one from the second tier.

Under the terms of the agreement, Dewsbury will have access to Bulls players who are not in the 19-man matchday squad and are too old for the new under-19s structure.

Morrison, who played 50 games in three years with the Bulls, was appointed at the Dewsbury helm a month ago. He is excited by the partnership.

Morrison said: “It’s something I am looking forward to. The Bulls have a lot to offer the Rams and we too will be making a big contribution to this relationship.

“It’s an exciting time for both clubs and I am sure it will be beneficial to the Rams and the Bulls as well as the community clubs in both areas.”
