Vinny Finigan is on the brink of signing a one-year deal at Sheffield Eagles following his departure from Bradford.
The 22-year-old winger spent last season on loan at Sheffield after being frozen out by Bulls coach Mick Potter.
He proved a major hit at the Eagles, and it was his try against Leigh in the play-off semi-finals that took the Eagles to the Championship Grand Final.
Finigan said: “It’s looks like I’ll sign a one-year deal at Sheffield by the end of this week.
“Even though we lost miserably in the Grand Final, I’ve enjoyed playing for Sheffield and it has been a good experience for me in terms of regular first-team rugby.
“I felt I had proved myself capable of playing in Super League but Mick Potter didn’t have any interest in me.
“Do I feel I should have been given more opportunities at Bradford? Definitely.
“But not being picked meant the door was closed and I have to move on with my career.”
