Andy Lynch is edging closer to the Odsal exit door with a deal to take the Bulls skipper to Hull FC on the verge of being finalised.

The Super League rivals are currently locked in talks over the 31-year-old prop, who has one year remaining on his contract at Bradford.

He will not be allowed to leave without Hull paying a fee for his services but the Airlie Birds’ new owner, Adam Pearson, is set on bringing Lynch to the KC Stadium.

Bulls chairman Peter Hood last week confirmed to fans at the members’ forum that talks had taken place with Hull after they made their interest in the player known.

Lynch’s departure would mark the end of a seven-year association with the Bulls following his arrival from Castleford at the start of the 2005 campaign. He has been offered a longer-term deal by Hull and will be released by Bradford provided a fee can be agreed.

His departure would open the door for Heath L’Estrange to land the Bulls captaincy.
