Matt Diskin's season is over due to a shoulder injury.

The Bulls hooker had played with the problem for almost two months but Sunday's trip to Warrington represented the end of the line.

Diskin will undergo surgery on Friday so he can be fit to start pre-season training in November.

The setback leaves Bradford with just one natural hooker in the senior squad, with Heath L'Estrange also sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.

Back-rower Danny Addy has filled in for L'Estrange on the bench in recent weeks and 18-year-old rake Adam O'Brien will likely earn a promotion to the first team in Diskin's absence.

"Matt's been carrying the injury for the past ten weeks but it's got to the stage now where the pain is becoming too much and an operation is the only course of action," said Bulls boss Mick Potter.

"I commend Matt's bravery in wanting to play on as long as possible whilst in a lot of discomfort but that's the measure of him as a man and a team mate."
