The Bulls' wretched injury luck shows no sign of improving after Heath L'Estrange was today ruled out of action for ten weeks.

A fractured ankle suffered during Saturday's win against Crusaders means L'Estrange is the third key playmaker to be sidelined already this season.

Initially, medical staff hoped the Aussie hooker had only suffered a sprain and he was seen walking on the injured ankle following the 30-26 win in Wrexham.

But scans later confirmed worst fears, and the news will come as a huge blow for the Bulls, who are already missing first-choice half-backs Kyle Briggs and Marc Herbert.

They will also be joined in the treatment room by Chev Walker after he suffered a pectoral tear during the opening ten minutes of the clash with Crusaders.

Walker has been ruled out for four weeks after making just three Super League appearances since his succesful recovery from an horrific broken leg that sidelined him for more than a year.

He said: "It’s disappointing that Heath will miss the next ten weeks because that part of the team – with Matt Diskin and Heath in the hooking role – has been working very well for us but we'll just have to manage.

"It's also disappointing for Chev but hopefully he shouldn't be too long before he’s back."

Briggs is set to miss at least another three weeks with knee ligament damage, while Jamie Langley is out for a similar spell after dislocating his shoulder in the season opener against Leeds.

But Herbert could be back in time for Sunday's game against Wakefield after making good progress in his recovery from a hamstring tear.
