The Bulls are ready to break the mould in a bid to end recent woes.

Emphasis has been placed on explosiveness and pace as acting head coach Lee St Hilaire looks to instill a new identity into his side ahead of Friday's trip to St Helens.

St Hilaire's efforts have been helped by the return of injured trio Nick Scruton, Brett Kearney and Jason Crookes, and he is keen for his side to remove their shackles in attack.

"Nick Scruton's return is going to be a massive positive for us because he's explosive and he contributes to the side," said St Hilaire.

"Brett Kearney will add something to us - direction and a bit of spark - while Jason Crookes is strong, quick and explosive.

"We're trying to put together a side with a bit of explosiveness in it and a bit of speed."

The need for a change in approach became glaringly apparent in the aftermath of the Bulls' 24-22 defeat to Catalans.

St Hilaire believes that was the team's worst performance during his three-game reign and, considering the huge amount of chances created, it stood out as an opportunity missed.

He said: "They had their heads down after the Catalans game, which was the worst game they've played since I took over.

"They know it and they felt it.

"We just didn't execute right and we've spoken about that but they've come back into training refreshed and ready to go."

Iafeta Paleaaesina will not be at Odsal next season, with the Wigan prop set to sign a two-year deal with Salford.

The Kiwi had been a potential target for the Bulls as they look to beef up their pack.
