Andy Lynch admits the Bulls must learn to handle their frustration better.

Another anxious, edgy performance ended in defeat to Catalans Dragons on Sunday and Lynch was left to rue a major missed opportunity.

The Bradford skipper was disappointed several team-mates aimed anger at referee James Child, rather than channeling that energy into improving performance.

Lynch said: “It was really hard. The way the game was refereed, we couldn’t afford to take our frustrations out on the referee but some players did that and it’s not acceptable.

“If we channel our frustration to play the game and win the game, we would have won that comfortably.

“We need to take the referee out of the equation and focus on ourselves.”

Child was roundly booed by the Odsal faithful for his display – one that has forced acting head coach Lee St Hilaire to seek answers from the Rugby Football League.

The man in the middle dished out almost 30 penalties and sent Mike Worrincy to the sin-bin for persistent offending.

“We’re frustrated with some of the stuff that went on during the game,” said St Hilaire.

“I’m going to review the tape and go to the powers that be, even though it’s going to be too late.

“We’re not helping ourselves – don’t get me wrong by any means – by kicking off on the full and things like that.

“But there were some decisions there that I’m going to look at. Even though I’m only caretaker head coach, I want some answers for Bradford Bulls. The sin-binning is one that I need clarification on.”
