Bradford must topple the reigning Challenge Cup champions if they are to keep their own hopes in the competition alive.

After overcoming Leigh Centurions in the fifth round, the Bulls were drawn at home against Warrington Wolves in the quarter-finals of the prestigious competition.

Currently second in Super League, the Wolves continued their defence of the crown with a stunning 60-4 demolition of Huddersfield, the team they met in last year’s final.

The tie also pits new England boss Steve McNamara against his predecessor in the national team hot-seat, and good friend, Tony Smith and, while it may look tough on paper, the Bulls boss is relishing the challenge.

“It’s a good tie,” said McNamara. “Obviously the form of them at the weekend was something to sit up and pay notice to but I’m really comfortable with it.

“We couldn’t have really asked for much more because we’ve got another home draw. There are some outstanding sides in this competition so there aren’t really any easy draws.

“I’ve already spoken to Tony about it and we’re both really looking forward to it.

“It should be a cracking game. When we played them away, we competed well for most of that game so we have nothing to fear.

“It’s a great opportunity in front of our own fans. We know Warrington will bring plenty with them so hopefully people will come out and get behind us.”

For now, attention turns to Super League.

The Bulls travel to Wakefield on Friday before taking on derby rivals Leeds at Odsal in two games, which could prove crucial to their hopes of a top-four finish.

Meanwhile, Warrington face two testing fixtures themselves, travelling to Leeds this week ahead of a rematch against Huddersfield.

McNamara said: “At this moment in time, after the games against Crusaders and Leigh, we’ve still got some work to do.

“We want to get back to our best form and we’ve got two tough fixtures to negotiate before we face Warrington.

“They are both West Yorkshire derbies so are big games in their own right.

“We haven’t got the biggest squad so we know we’ll have to manoeuvre our way through these games while managing our players in the best way possible.”

Quarter-final draw: St Helens v Barrow.

Halifax or Batley v Catalans Dragons.

Bradford v Warrington.

Leeds v Wigan.
