Manly have weighed in on the row over their captain Matt Orford’s move to the Bulls.

Orford completed a move to Odsal on Monday, taking up the club’s final overseas quota place for 2010 and sparking the threat of legal action from Gold Coast star Chris Walker, who believes he had a deal with Bradford.

“It’s business as usual and he’s leaving some time in December,” said Sea Eagles chairman Scott Penn when asked about Orford.

“From our point of view, we are of the understanding he’s signed with them and we are working on that assumption.

“I would find it most unusual if it doesn’t proceed.”

Walker’s manager Chris Orr is attempting to stop Orford’s move, as it means there is no more room on the quota for the Bulls to bring in his client.

The club’s five import quota places for 2010 are taken by Steve Menzies, Cronulla capture Brett Kearney and newly-signed Manly trio Heath L’Estrange, Glenn Hall and Orford. Kearney should arrive in England tomorrow, with L’Estrange and Hall following early next week.
