Bulls have not finished their shopping for next season.

Last week’s double swoop for Danny Sculthorpe and Odsal old boy Stuart Reardon took the tally to five new signings after eight went out.

Coach Steve McNamara, who pipped former boss Brian Noble’s Celtic Crusaders to both signings, is pleased with the way the squad is taking shape as he rebuilds following the bitter blow of missing out on the play-offs for the first time.

Pre-season begins next week for some of the squad, with the new faces reporting back a fortnight later.

But the recruitment plans for Super League XV remain in full swing.

“We’re not complete yet,” said McNamara. “We are still looking to add to our squad at this moment in time.

“Most clubs would like to have everybody in place before the start of pre-season but there’s plenty of time before the start of Super League.

“Some things take time to happen but we’re certainly not finished.”

McNamara has admitted the squad needed freshening up after the last campaign. And the Bulls still have a vacancy with their overseas quota for one more international capture.

He added: “Things can change and people can suddenly become available that you didn’t expect.

“We are still looking to strengthen in a couple of areas.

“We’ve got balls in the air but they might not drop for us. We will have to see.”

Reardon revealed that he had verbally agreed to join his former coach Noble in south Wales before the Bulls stepped in late on.

It is a much-changed side to the one he left four seasons ago but the former Great Britain full back is impressed with the quality of the other arrivals.

Reardon said: “There’s only Jamie Langley, Deacs (Paul Deacon) and Andy Lynch still here. The rest of the squad has changed but that happens at every club.

“I’m excited to be going back to meet new players and I think Steve has made some good signings.”
