Bulls second-rower Matt Cook today joined Castleford Tigers on loan until the end of the season.

The England international, 21, goes straight into their squad for the televised match with Hull FC at The Jungle on Friday night.

Ironically, Cook scored a crucial try against the same opponents last Friday to help Bradford pick up a priceless victory.

However, that was only his fourth appearance of the season - all off the bench - and he has struggled to command a regular place.

With fellow back-rowers Glenn Morrison and David Solomona both likely to return against Hull KR on Sunday, and Jamie Langley also fit again, Bulls boss Steve McNamara can afford to let the former Saracens RU player leave Grattan Stadium.

Bradford do have a call-back option on Cook though in case they hit another injury crisis.

He is training with Cas this morning and said: "I'm excited to be here with the Tigers, I have heard some good things about the club from Wayne Godwin and Andy Lynch and I am looking forward to playing at the Jungle.

"I'd also like to thank Steve McNamara for allowing me to leave the Bulls."

Cook has made 41 appearances for the Bulls in the last four years but just two starts, scoring two tries.

His effort against Hull was his first Super League try.

Castleford CEO Richard Wright said: "We are very pleased to have been able to bring Matt to the Jungle and I expect that Terry is likely to name him in the squad for Friday's match against Hull.

"It has taken a while to strengthen the squad, but we always knew that we would have to be patient to get the right players, and in Matt we believe that we have achieved that. He is a young player with lots of promise and we believe he can be a big asset for us this year."
