Bulls star Glenn Morrison is in line for a shock early return to action - SEVEN weeks ahead of schedule.

The influential second-rower feared he would not feature again until mid-June after injuring his knee in Perpignan last month.

But he is now ready to hand Steve McNamara a huge boost by declaring himself fit for Sunday's trip to Hull KR.

The Australian was warned he could miss up to 12 weeks but is primed to bounce back in less than half that time after a swift recovery.

"I did full contact training on Monday, then some wrestling yesterday, and the knee does feel good," revealed Morrison.

"I want to put my hand up for Rovers if Macca selects me and I am ready to go. The injury has healed up pretty good and pretty quick.

"It wasn't major ligament damage as first thought, and they always say the worst scenario at the start, but I am probably a couple of weeks early. It's pleasing and I'm looking forward to getting going again."

Bradford's player of the year has sat out the last five games as the club battled a serious injury list, with Joe Vagana, Michael Platt and Tame Tupou also missing.

But they have produced the goods regardless, taking four wins during his absence to rise up to third in Super League.

The return of Morrison, 31, will strengthen the Bulls cause though and, with Terry Newton back from suspension and David Solomona shaking off a calf injury, McNamara could have plenty of options.

Former Parramatta ace Morrison said: "The boys have been winning and we're on a pretty good roll. I just want to get back out there on the field now to help that continue."
