Basil Richards' side got off the mark at the third attempt with a one-sided 40-18 defeat of Castleford Tigers at Cleckheaton RUFC.
Prop Matt James - dropped down from Super League - responded by scoring twice.
Jason Crookes, Vinny Finnigan, Steve Crossley and Keale Carlile also crossed.
Skipper Richard Johnson kicked three goals and Steve Crossley added a further conversion.
They tackle the Black and Whites at Hull Ionians RUFC on Saturday (2.30pm).
The under-18s open their campaign against Leeds at Grattan Stadium on the same day (1.30pm).
