GEOFF Toovey expects to return from Australia with an answer over his Bulls future.

The coach flew back home on Wednesday for a short break to see family.

While the squad continues to swell for the 2018 campaign, there is still no indication whether Toovey will be leading them into League One.

But it is likely he will have made up his mind by the time he is back on English soil in the next ten days.

Toovey, whose present contract runs out in November, has admitted it is a tough call whether to stick with the club ahead of their first taste of rugby in the third tier.

The Bulls want the 48-year-old to stay but most observers still believe he will head elsewhere.

"It is still undecided," he said before jetting off. "It is a tough decision to make at the moment as to whether I go or stay.

"I know that Bradford want me to stay, which is pleasing, but there are many factors that can influence things, such as things at home, opportunities here or at home and the fact that we have been relegated again, which doesn't help the cause either."

After three years in charge at Manly Sea Eagles, last season was an eye opener for the NRL legend.

Toovey said: "It's a change of degree of intensity, whether it be on or off the field, in all aspects of their playing career.

"It's always going to be different depending on whatever level you are at. All you can do is try to adapt to that and make sure that you get a positive outcome."

Toovey has been linked with several jobs Down Under, most recently the vacancy for the NSW State of Origin team. Brad Fittler is the favourite to take that role.
