BRADFORD Bulls' relegation to Kingstone Press League One may have been confirmed but that doesn't mean that their players have nothing to play for in the remainder of the season.

Ahead of Sunday's Championship Shield match against Oldham at Bower Fold, the Bulls' head coach Geoff Toovey said: "The remaining six games are a chance for the players to win some matches.

"I haven't had the chance to talk to the owners about whether we will be full-time next season, part-time or a bit of a hybrid – it depends on budgets and the owners – but now we have clarity about what division we will be playing in, and the players have contracts to play for.

"It is also a chance for them get the respect of the fans and to justify their position in the team."

Toovey added: "I still don’t think that we are down and out (as a club), and the players have to go out there and play for themselves now and for the team as a collective.

"There is nothing stronger than a bunch of guys getting together and believing in something for themselves and working hard as a collective.”

This is the third meeting between the Bulls and Oldham this season, with Oldham winning 26-22 at home in April and the Bulls triumphing 47-12 at Odsal in June.

Toovey said: "It is 1-1,and we will see if we can play for 80 minutes.

"They are a side with some quality outside backs that do a lot of work and a left foot-right foot kicking half, but we have no injuries to speak of and Lee Smith came back last weekend and will be better for the game-time that he had."
