GEOFF Toovey admits that the Bulls must be more ruthless near the opposition try-line – and not panic.

Sunday's defeat at Rochdale saw a host of try-scoring opportunities go begging, particularly during a 15-minute spell in the second half with the game in the balance.

Head coach Toovey believes that is symptomatic of the pressure his squad have been under this campaign.

"There was a bit of panic which set in there again on Sunday," he said, discussing the painful 28-14 Championship defeat at Spotland.

"With the situation that the club has been in and the pressure the players have been under over the last couple of months to try to get that negative two points off our back, it has really weighed heavily on them.

"So there was a bit of panic when we got close to the line, and that was the same in the first half when we were unlucky not to score two or three more tries.

"We could have been up 20-0 or 24-0 up there at one stage but butchered a couple of easy, soft tries and, once they got a sniff, they felt they were back in the game."
