TED Chapelhow has thanked Bulls fans for their unflinching support – and vowed to repay them with a long-overdue win.

Along with fellow Widnes dual-registration player Ed Chamberlain, the prop was involved in Sunday's painful 28-14 defeat at Rochdale.

That loss dealt another major blow to the Bulls' Championship survival hopes but – similarly to coach Geoff Toovey, speaking in yesterday's T&A – the 21-year-old is refusing to write off their chances this season.

"The lads are bruised and hurt but we'll come back on Sunday against Oldham and try to get that win we need so badly," Chapelhow told the T&A.

"When you're a Bradford Bulls player you have a never-say-die attitude and you never give in, so the players still believe we can stay up and I think a lot of the fans do too.

"I've never seen anything like the travelling support we have here. They are so loud and such a credit to the club. Hopefully, as players, we can repay some of that backing and get back to winning ways.

"I've been at Whitehaven in the past, and the fans were good, but the travelling support here is just out of this world – it's like playing at home every time.

"At Dewsbury and then at Rochdale on Sunday, they created such an amazing atmosphere and we really do appreciate them turning up and backing us all the way.

"As soon as I came to the club, the other players were telling me how good the fans are, and it didn't take me long to see that for myself. That's all credit to them and we're grateful for that.

"The lads are putting in the work during the week and we won't give up, no chance."

Reflecting on the weekend defeat in Lancashire, try-scorer Chapelhow added: "It goes without saying that we were all gutted – we felt it was a very winnable game, especially the way we started. In the first 20-30 minutes we were getting into them and got those couple of tries ahead.

"We bombed a couple of chances in that first half though and probably should have scored at least two more tries when we were on top.

"Then we started throwing the ball around and making far too many simple errors. To cough up so much possession in that heat was always going to hurt us – and it did."
