GEOFF Toovey insists the Bulls have "plenty of time left" to preserve their Championship place for next season.

The Aussie head coach is raring to go after finally being granted his visa this week – and is determined to end Bradford's eight-game losing run at Rochdale on Sunday.

That would not lift the Bulls off the foot of the table but could bring a number of their relegation rivals within sharper focus with 12 further games remaining.

Toovey said: "When you're winning, it sometimes feels like you just can't stop winning.

"But when you're on the other side of that, it's very difficult and you've got to work twice as hard to get those 50-50 calls and to get across the line.

"So getting that winning feeling back soon is what we're aiming to do as players and as coaching staff and if the fans can help us do that, then great.

"We need to hit zero points first, then we can set some new goals and ambitions.

"There's plenty of time left and lots of games – we just need to get that monkey off our back and away we'll go."

Toovey is also hoping for a change in fortunes ahead of the business end of the season.

"Our bad luck started with Easter weekend, when all the loan players were called back, and over the last few weeks it's been a combination of injuries and suspensions, meaning we've only had 18 players to select from," he said.

"Those hurdles, including the Dane Chisholm injury and then relying on some steady loan players – which we're very grateful for – does make it very difficult to organise game-plans and training sessions. So we're hoping for a bit more luck going forward."
