BULLS admit the uncertainty over what division they will be in next season has put the brakes on negotiations over player contracts.

Having gone past the halfway mark of the regular campaign, clubs are now in the process of deciding who they want to keep and sign for 2018.

It was reported this week that the versatile Colton Roche has been the focus of Super League interest, while the form of Bulls’ most promising academy products is sure to have not gone un-noticed.

Almost all of the Bradford squad are on one-year deals but they have a real fight on their hands to avoid relegation to League One.

Their 12-point penalty following a third administration in five years means they are currently eight points adrift of safety.

Football manager Stuart Duffy said: “We’re in the situation where we have to look at where we are going next year (regarding players).

“But the uncertainty of where we are going to be in the table is causing us problems.

“We are working on things, we’ve got people looking for us.

“As things become clearer we’ll start making decisions and start announcing things.”

Duffy insists confidence remains high among the Bulls camp despite four defeats on the bounce.

He said: “The mood is one of determination. There isn’t any player who thinks they will go down. They all confident that they can pull themselves out of the situation but obviously we need to start winning games.”

Bulls face a blank weekend, due to the Challenge Cup, ahead of two more tough-looking encounters at home to London and against Hull KR at Blackpool in the Summer Bash, before a crucial game at Dewsbury on June 4.

Duffy added: “There are games that you can target. Unless you are Hull KR, who can win every game, other clubs target certain games that they can win. We’ve got to look at those games and make sure we perform in those and try win them.”
