OMARI Caro admits the free weekend could not come at a better time for the Bulls after their painful Easter.

The next round of the Challenge Cup means there is now a ten-day break until the trip to the south of France to tackle Toulouse.

After back-to-back losses over the holiday period, the enforced absence will give the Bulls a much-needed breather – and the chance to get some more bodies available.

Injuries and unavailable loan players hit hard in Monday's 44-18 lesson at Featherstone. That followed on the heels of the Good Friday home loss to Halifax which leaves them stuck on minus two points – and still four adrift at the foot of the Championship.

Winger Caro, who scored one of the three second-half tries against Rovers, said: "The last two games have been tough.

"We've got a lot of young lads who've never had to 'back up' over Easter, so there's a bit of inexperience. We've also lost some players through loans and injuries.

"Now we've got this weekend off we can recuperate and get some bodies back and hope to kick on from there. It was never going to be easy over Easter."

Joe Keyes suffered tendon damage in his ankle and had to limp off on Monday to add to a casualty list that already included skipper Leon Pryce, Lee Smith and Colton Roche.

In-form forward Roche could face a month out with a broken wrist but the Bulls will be hoping to get loanees Jordan Lilley and Daniel Murray back from parent clubs Leeds and Salford respectively for the next game.

Playing twice over four days was an eye-opener for the youngsters drafted into the Bradford side.

Caro said: "I don't want to sound like I'm bad-mouthing anyone but youthful exuberance gets you only so far.

"The boys all dug in but experience goes a long way. It was the first time a lot of them had played in the Easter period.

"It's not so good now but in the next few years some of those younger boys will grow from that experience."

The Bulls were battered 38-0 in the first half as Featherstone took full advantage of the slope.

Caro said: "Everyone talks about the Batley ground having the slope but you under-estimate it there. That first half, we couldn't get out (of our half).

"We got some injuries during the game and lads like Joe Keyes didn't come back on.

"We had people playing out of position and we had to shuffle the pack. I just think there were a lot of tired young bodies and it was difficult for them."
