THE Bulls have signalled their intent with the capture of Samoan rugby union sevens player Phoenix Hunapo-Nofoa.

The 22-year-old utility back has signed a 12-month contract with the Kingstone Press Championship club, with an option to extend for two more years.

Bulls co-chairman Graham Lowe, the former Wigan and New Zealand coach, said: "Phoenix will quickly become a favourite of our fans.

"His instinctive attacking and running style will be very exciting to watch. He's been a great player for Samoa on the World Rugby Sevens circuit.

"We have managed to sign him despite a great deal of interest from several NRL clubs.

"He is very excited about being coached by Geoff Toovey and I know Geoff is the type of coach who will get the very best out of him."

Bradford are rebuilding following the collapse of the old club and began the season on minus-12 points.

A vastly inexperienced team went down 54-24 in their opening game of the season at Hull KR last Sunday. They play their first home match against Rochdale on Sunday.
