Iestyn Harris's fitness is rapidly improving but he won't risk facing Leeds Rhinos unless he is 100 per cent.

The Bulls stand-off has been battling hard to overcome the hamstring strain he suffered against Huddersfield 12 days ago.

Harris was given a prognosis of four to six weeks but has his heart set on tackling his former club in next Friday's much-anticipated Super League clash.

It will be the first time the arch-rivals have met since their infamous battle in Cardiff and the Bulls are desperate to end a four-match losing run against Tony Smith's men.

"We've had a couple of rough days against them," Harris admitted.

"Millennium Magic was tough to take and we lost in the last minute at home as well.

"I reckon it will be pretty close again but hopefully we'll go there strong and do a number on them.

"As for me playing, I've got a slim chance for Leeds."

The 30-year-old has been in Salou with his family during the international break.

He has noticed big improvements to his injury and could yet return ahead of schedule but won't let his heart rule his head.

"I'm going to make it 100 per cent," said the former Great Britain ace. "I don't want to come back at 80 or 90 per cent and risk it going again.

"The bruising has died down and more or less gone. The hamstring's 100 per cent better than it was three or four days ago and I've been in the pool a lot, which is perhaps helping, but it's probably a bit too early to say whether I'll be right as I've not properly run on it yet.

"I've done a little road running over here and it felt okay and I've been doing rehab while I've been away as well.

"I'm hoping to run full out this week and then we'll assess it."
