FIT-AGAIN Bulls prop Mitch Clark is ready to unleash his frustration on Oldham in this weekend’s Championship Shield clash.

The Bradford prop has not played since he sustained an injury to his right knee in the home win over Batley exactly two months ago.

But he has trained fully in the past two days and could be handed a recall by head coach Rohan Smith in Sunday’s showdown, while Joe Keyes and academy graduate James Bentley are set to make to their debuts.

Clark emerged as one of the best young forwards in the Championship before his injury and could only watch on in agony as the Bulls’ season unravelled.

Of the five regular season games he missed after being sidelined, the Bulls lost three of them, with a final-day defeat at Featherstone ending their top-four hopes.

Clark said: “That was especially hard to watch and I felt for all the boys in the changing room afterwards and all the fans.

“It was frustrating and things didn't go our way but the boys tried hard. But you can't put it all down to that one game because the whole season has been up and down.

“It’s fair to say we haven’t finished off games as well as we wanted to this year.

“It’s about finishing the season on a high now and I feel like I'm ready to do a job on Oldham.

“It will be up to Rohan – he will talk to the medical team and they will assess where I am at physically – but I will definitely be putting my hand up to play.

“If I am involved, it will certainly test my lungs out after eight weeks on the sidelines.”

The imposing 23-year-old is widely expected to join Hull KR next season but has yet to comment on his future.

But injuries aside, the son of former Bradford Northern forward Trevor Clark is pleased with the progress he has made since arriving from Doncaster last winter.

He said: “There have been ups and downs and I've had a few injuries, but I've worked hard and hoped that good things would come my way.

“I just wanted to play as many games with the boys as possible.

“This year has been my second in the Championship and reaching the top has always been a goal of mine. I'll keep doing what I can to achieve my goals.”

Lee Gaskell and Paul Clough remain absent and Adrian Purtell will miss out with a knock but homegrown hooker Joe Lumb is fit again after knee surgery and should be named in the 19-man squad today.

* MATTY Blythe is set for a shock return to his home-town club Warrington at the end of the season as the Odsal exodus continues.

The versatile 27-year-old is nearing the end of his fourth year at Odsal after joining Bradford from the Wolves, initially on loan, ahead of the 2013 campaign.
