UNDER-FIRE chairman Marc Green has insisted the Bulls are not heading for another administration following the club’s latest cash crisis.

Staff and player wages were due last Friday but they will not be paid until tomorrow at the earliest.

Green yesterday addressed players and staff at Odsal and said that his bank accounts have been frozen amid the "toughest personal and professional period of his life".

He said that he was seeking to transfer his money to the RFL so they can facilitate payment.

Rohan Smith’s squad have been left furious at the non-payment of wages and it remains to be seen if Green can source the necessary funds ahead of tomorrow’s self-imposed deadline.

Crucially, Green denied that placing the club into administration for the third time in five seasons was part of his plans.

In a statement posted on the club’s official website, the Bulls claimed that the cash-flow problem was as a result of Green enduring financial difficulties.

The statement said: “Chairman Marc Green today brought all full-time staff together to update them on the current situation regarding the financial stability of the club.

“He started off by apologising to all staff and reassured them that they will be paid by the end of play on Friday, August 5, including all part-time staff.

“Marc explained he has recently experienced the toughest personal and professional period of his life, which had put his and the club’s financial position under pressure.

“Marc strongly reaffirmed the position that he has not looked for and will not consider sending the club into administration, despite the many rumours circulating social media.

“At this time, he is exploring the many commercial options available to the club and is confident he will secure its short and long term future.

“He is currently working on strategies to improve every element of the business including the performance department, which will include working with current managers to reinforce the foundations built over the last few years and take the club forward.

“He wanted to reassure supporters he has the club’s best interest at heart and is looking forward to the final run of games.”

Green jetted back to Ibiza to continue his holiday yesterday, but it is understood at least one third party is interested in taking ownership of the club.

Smith’s squad received legal advice from Front Row Legal yesterday as they face a nervous wait to discover if they will be paid before Sunday’s Championship Shield opener at Whitehaven.

Front Row Legal's Richard Cramer successfully represented Francis Cummins in a legal battle against Green last year when he was sacked as head coach.

Cramer addressed the Bulls players yesterday morning and will today push for talks with the RFL.
