STEVE Crossley admits the arrival of "untouchable" Dane Chisholm has given the Bulls a massive boost in their bid to reach the top four.

Australian half-back Chisholm marked his debut with a scintillating performance in Sunday's 64-18 win over Whitehaven.

Crossley has applauded his new team-mate's impact as Rohan Smith's men seek to overcome Oldham at Odsal this weekend.

"Dane has had a really good week since he arrived at the club and he was untouchable at times against Whitehaven with the way he took the line on and the quality of his passing," said Crossley.

"Results elsewhere obviously went for us at the weekend, so that puts us in really good stead for the remaining two games.

"Halifax and Batley are top sides, as they have showed all season, but they both have a couple of tough fixtures coming up.

"We know we are still relying on other teams doing us a favour but we need to make sure we get ourselves right for Oldham and then Featherstone, which will be a tough game.

"Oldham have dished out a few shocks this season, so we need to show them the same respect we showed Whitehaven."

Crossley avoided the dreaded naked run at the end of the season by scoring his first try of the campaign during the first half against Whitehaven.

The big prop collected a short pass from Jay Pitts to touch down and said: "Pittsy called for the ball on his inside and I could see the defender was already running out.

"As soon as I scored, you could see the relief I had in avoiding the naked run at the end of the season!"
