PAUL Clough is set to become the latest Bulls player to jump ship from Odsal and join Huddersfield at the end of the season.

It is understood the former St Helens prop has agreed a two-year deal with the Giants as he bids to revive his career at the highest level.

Lee Gaskell and Dale Ferguson have also been lined up for moves to Huddersfield, who are currently without a coach following Paul Anderson's recent departure.

With Mitch Clark and Danny Addy believed to have agreed deals at Hull KR, Bulls head coach Rohan Smith is facing a major rebuilding job ahead of the 2017 campaign.

Dan Fleming and Steve Crossley are expected to join the newly-formed Toronto Wolfpack, while other out-of-contract players such as Epalahame Lauaki, Etu Uaisele, Richie Mathers, Jonny Walker and Lucas Walshaw seem certain to depart.

Jay Pitts, Ethan Ryan, Matty Blythe and Tom Olbison are similarly out of contract at the end of the season but all four could sign new deals to stay at Bradford.

Leon Pryce is widely expected to be a Bulls player next season and will partner Dane Chisholm in the halves.

Chisholm will make his debut against Whitehaven tomorrow following his arrival from Canterbury Bulldogs on a deal until the end of next season.

The Aussie, who has been handed the number seven jersey which has been vacant all year, impressed during a short stint at Hull KR towards the end of last season.

"It has been a couple of weeks since I got the release from the Bulldogs, so I'm pumped and I can't wait to get out on the field this weekend," said 26-year-old Chisholm.

"I'm loving it here already and all the boys have really taken to me, so it has been a smooth transition.

"Bradford have obviously been missing a half-back with this number seven jersey being vacant for so long.

"I'm pretty keen to get out there and play some attacking football. Do I have the hunger and desire to make my mark here? Of course.

"Last year was about helping Hull KR out but this is a personal thing with me at Bradford now as I'm here for next year as well.

"I really want to help the boys go forward in the future and get the club back where it should be in Super League."

Not that Chisholm was unhappy at the Bulldogs – far from it. But first-team opportunities were scarce and he jumped at the chance to swap playing in the NRL team's reserve-grade for a first-team spot at Bradford.

He said: "I was loving it there and was really happy at the Bulldogs. The only reason I left was because this opportunity at Bradford came up.

"I wasn't playing much NRL over there and I wanted to get over here and start a career in England. Now I'm looking to stay here as long as I can."

Chisholm will start in the halves tomorrow but he is still working out where his team-mates play.

"No-one has really been set in any positions in training, so I've been trying to see how everyone plays and find out who does what," he said.

"I think that's what I'll do at the weekend – see what people are good at and how I can fit into the system.

"I've been to Odsal twice already this week and had a good look around, so I can't wait to run out there against Whitehaven."

The Bulls must win their remaining games if they are to sneak into the Championship top four.

Head coach Smith said: "Whitehaven are going throw everything in their arsenal at us and will come with a winners-take-all mentality.

"We just have to focus on ourselves and not worry about what is going on elsewhere or in the weeks ahead.

"We've had a good honest chat about what we need to do this weekend and it's up to us to be ready to rumble come 3pm on Sunday."

Smith has been particularly impressed with the work carried out by highly-respected head of youth John Bastian, with a number of promising young players being nurtured in the Odsal youth ranks.

"John is a great operator and one of the best in the business in putting in a youth system," said Smith.

"We speak at least once a day and swap several more texts and phone calls, so we are really working together to build up the under-16s and 19s programme.

"It has been really pleasing to see great young kids around with potential to reach the first team."
