ROHAN Smith has hailed the arrival of Kieren Moss and set his sights on victory in his first home game since being appointed as head coach.

The Bulls host Dewsbury at Odsal tomorrow and Moss is set to be introduced to the crowd following his arrival from Parramatta Eels on a deal until the end of 2017.

The full back, who is noted for his raw pace, becomes reunited with Smith after the Bradford boss coached him in the youth ranks at Penrith.

Smith is seeking to build on last week’s encouraging display against Leigh as the Bulls seek to enhance their promotion credentials.

Asked about taking charge of a game at Odsal for the first time, Smith said: “It’s not about me.

“It’s more about the boys getting out there, enjoying what they do and putting on a performance for the fans.

“I felt there were a lot of positives to take from the Leigh game and a lot of people around the club were quite proud of the performance, as I was.

“The effort and the intent in all three matches I’ve seen live has been there from all the players, so that’s all we can ask for as a starting point.

“Our execution needs to improve but the attitude of the players seems to be good and it has been really enjoyable so far.

“It’s hard for most people not to have an eye on the table, but for us the most important thing is to focus on the performance.

“Dewsbury will be fired up and teams always rise to the occasion in local derbies.

“I thought they played a really good style of rugby at the weekend against Batley, so we are expecting a good, hard game.

“They are pretty good at getting out of their backfield on kick-return sets and their back three do a pretty good job.

“My old mate Paul Sykes, who I worked with at London, has a few tricks up his sleeve, not only with his kicking game but he’s also a threat carrying the ball.

“But we are certainly focusing on our own performance and intent with our defence.”

It remains to be seen where 22-year-old Moss will be deployed but he can play both full back and in the halves.

Smith added: “Kieren is a really good young man and has a lot of ability.

“He performed strongly over several seasons in the Under-20s competition in Australia with Penrith and then moved into the NSW Cup team with them as well.

“I feel the English game will suit him and allow him to take his game to another level.

“He is an excellent support player. He is very good defensively and catches a lot of kicks on the full.

“Where the ball is, is where he likes to be – he’s that style of player.”

Smith has a reputation for forging close relationships with his players and Moss was part of Penrith’s premiership winning NSW Cup team in 2014 before joining Parramatta in August 2015.

Moss said: “I knew Rohan when I had him as an assistant coach when I was coming through the system at Penrith Panthers.

“I’ve always admired what Rohan has done and I think he is a really, really smart coach and I just love what he does.

“Bradford is such a notable club with its history, plus having Rohan as the coach; they sealed the deal for me.

“I think my biggest asset is my speed. That has got me where I am at the moment, plus my support play as well.

“I try to be wherever the ball is around the ruck and always try to put myself in the right place at the right time.”

Meanwhile, Danny Addy is set for more game-time at hooker and Smith explained: “Adam O’Brien is a great player and loves mixing it physically.

“But at this point I don’t see him as an 80-minute player there, so it’s about sharing that role at dummy half.

“Danny Addy is just a great player with the ball in his hands and I don’t think it really matters what position he plays.

“I asked him a few weeks back what he saw himself as.

“He said he likes playing loose forward but also really likes playing dummy half.

“I’m not sure how much time he has spent playing there, but you guys in the media and the fans who have made contact with me all really enjoyed his performance against Leigh.

“It’s something that we will pursue more in the coming weeks because that’s where his skills set is really well suited to.”

Epalahame Lauaki and Ethan Ryan have been recalled to the squad in place of Joe Lumb and Matty Blythe for tomorrow’s game.
