GLENN Morrison admits Dewsbury will have to overcome a major injury crisis if they are to claim another famous victory against the Bulls this weekend.

The Rams dumped Jimmy Lowes’ men out of the Challenge Cup last month and host them again in a league encounter on Sunday.

Yet former Bradford star Morrison has seen his squad decimated by injury while Etu Uaisele and Jonathan Walker – both on a month’s loan at Dewsbury – are not allowed to face their parent club.

Morrison said: “We had 10 boys missing against Leigh on Sunday, which meant we only had 18 fit players.

“There are 11 out injured at the moment and, with Etu and Jonny, that will be 13 boys who are unavailable, but we are hoping to get one or two back for the weekend.

“We’re light on numbers and would have liked Jonny and Etu to play because they did a great job against Leigh.

“But that was the deal we did and, depending on what Bradford’s plans for them are, I’d love them both to stay with us longer if possible.”

Dewsbury beat their big-city neighbours 31-30 last month and former Bulls players Paul Sykes, Jason Crookes, Nathan Conroy and Joel Farrell all made key contributions.

Morrison added: “For the club it was massive, but I know it’s going to be a bit different this weekend with five back-rowers out and us backing up after Easter as a part-time team against a full-time team.

“We’re going to struggle a bit but we’ll give it a good go and play with the same kind of belief we showed against them last time.

“I was very proud of them but I’m expecting a different Bradford Bulls on Sunday and we are going to be missing some big boys in the middle especially.

“Matt Groat, Ryan Hepworth, Tony Tonks, Scott Hale, Aaron Brown, Rob Spicer, Scott Hale, Paul Jackson, Jason Muranka and Andy Kain are all injured.

“Like I say, we might get one or two back but it’ll be a late call.

“Crucially, the lads always give everything for me and, if that’s the case, I think half the battle is won. As a part-time team, you put 17 guys on the field and you know they’ll do a job for you.

“We’ve been the little brother of the Bulls for a while with us having the dual-reg partnership with them.

“Before the Challenge Cup tie, we said it was time to get one over on big brother.

“What we’ve got in this group is a will to win for each other and graft hard for 80 minutes when they put the shirt on.

“It can come down to who wants it more – it’s not always about who is the best team.”
