HARRY Siejka says sleeping out with his new team-mates will not only raise funds for charity – but also help them to bond.

At least 21 members of the Bulls squad have signed up for the all-night Sleep Out at Odsal on Thursday, November 6.

The event is designed to raise vital funds for Centrepoint – the UK's leading charity for homeless young people, supporting 16 to 25-year-olds with housing, learning, health and life skills.

They work with more than 300 homeless young people in the Bradford area.

Funds raised will be divided equally with the Bradford Bulls Foundation.

Sleep Out is an annual national fundraising initiative now in its third year and new Bulls recruit Siejka said: “I’m really looking forward to it. It’s for a great cause and we’ve got over 20 boys all signed up and ready to go.

“It will give us a taste of what homeless people go through on a daily basis.

“What Centrepoint are doing is creating awareness of the work they do in helping young homeless people.

“The Sleep Out will give us an insight into that but I think we’ve got training the next day, so it could be a long night!

“But I think it will be good for team bonding. Training has been good so far and they’re a really good bunch of lads.

“No-one has an ego and people are just enjoying each other’s company, so I think that will play a part in it as well.”

In addition to Bradford, Sleep Out events will also be taking place in ten other UK cities, including London, Cardiff and Edinburgh on the same night in partnership with local charities.

Together they aim to raise awareness of youth homelessness, an issue faced by 80,000 young people each year in the UK.

Paul Butterworth, of supporters trust BullBuilder, will also be taking part in the Odsal Sleep Out.

Butterworth said: “Thinking about homeless people sleeping outside over the forthcoming winter and knowing about the fantastic work the Bradford Bulls Foundation do made me want to do something to help.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has sponsored me so far for your support and very kind donations. They are very much appreciated.”

BullBuilder chairman Mike Farren said: “It’s great that the Bulls have supported this initiative from Centrepoint, who are a very deserving cause.

“As the official Bradford Bulls supporters trust we had to get on board. I hope Paul has a warm sleeping bag!”
