Jamie Foster is not about to join the Lee Gaskell appreciation society – he is already a fully paid-up member.
The pair have been close friends for years, having played together at renowned amateur club Blackbrook before progressing through the ranks at St Helens.
They are also near neighbours and Foster has tipped his pal, a new recruit by the Bulls, to take the Provident Stadium by storm next season.
“I’m probably being a little bit biased, because I know Lee so well, but he’s the signing I’m particularly excited about,” said Foster.
“I’ve known him for years and I don’t think Super League has seen the best of him yet.
“I did the 2011 season with him at St Helens and he was unbelievable that year as we reached the Grand Final.
“His kicking game and his running game are superb and he’s so fast with the ball.
“He doesn’t look it because he’s so tall but he just glides past defenders.
“I think when Franny (Cummins) puts a few little things into his game, then he’s going to be massive for us.
“Yes, he’s definitely going to be a player to watch out for.”
