The Bulls have joined the Parliamentary Rugby League Group as associate members.

The group, which began its 25th anniversary year in 2013-14, welcomes clubs, fans and organisations who share its aim to support rugby league.

Members of the group work in Parliament and Whitehall to promote the game and challenge issues the sport faces.

The group meet monthly in the Palace of Westminster and Bradford, Championship One side Oxford and community outfit Brentford RLFC have become the first clubs to join as associate members.

Gerry Sutcliffe, MP for Bradford South and the Bulls’ co-chairman, said: “I’ve been involved in rugby league, the Parliamentary Group and Bradford Bulls for a long time.

“I know first-hand the challenges faced by our sport at the highest level.

“The Parliamentary Group was tremendous in its support for the Bulls, with members putting aside any club allegiance to help such an historic club.

“But the group does so much more behind the scenes and I believe it is important that we do what we can to help them deliver their work and support our game.”
