Keith Lulia has admitted he has not yet reached the heights of last season but is aiming to recapture his best form when the Bulls travel to Hull KR on Sunday.

The Cook Islands centre took Super League by storm during his debut campaign last year after arriving from NRL outfit Newcastle Knights.

He emerged as one of the best overseas imports in the competition in 2012 but, by his own admission, has struggled to reproduce that form on a regular basis this term.

Nevertheless, he has remained a fixture in Francis Cummins’ side at left centre and has vowed to hit the ground running at Craven Park this weekend.

Last March, Lulia was pivotal in helping the Bulls to an exhilarating 36-24 win away to Craig Sandercock’s side.

The 25-year-old said: “It was one of my early games and I’d like to play like that again this weekend.

“I could pick up a bit – I don’t think I am where I was last year – but hopefully I can get more involved so I can help my team out.

"During my time at the Bulls, I’ve had different wingers. I had a good stint with Jason Crookes last year and we had a good connection. But this year I’ve had Jamie Foster, Michael Platt and Adrian Purtell so I haven’t really had the chance to form a good bond with a winger.”

Lulia also believes opposition teams have worked to snuff out his threat.

He added: “Coming into Super League last year, not many people knowing about me was probably why I was going so well at the start of last year.

“Opposition teams obviously do a bit of video on me and study what I’m good at.

“I’ve just got to mix it up every now and then and not do the same things.”

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Jobe Murphy has made a permanent move to Dewsbury Rams, the Bulls’ partner club, but will continue to train at Odsal and could play for Bradford on loan if required.

Cummins said: “Jobe will now play all of his games at Dewsbury but we can get him back on loan.

“There’s a situation where if I’m making four or five players available and Dewsbury have already got three loan players, they can only take two of ours.

“Now Dewsbury have taken over but we’re still looking after Jobe.

“It’s just a matter of him doing what he’s doing and playing games. There are a lot of players in the game like Jobe who can’t get a first-team game and they’re in between other clubs.”

Rams coach Glenn Morrison said: “It’s great to have Jobe on board permanently as it makes sure of his availability to us.

“I fully believe he can become a Super League player in the future and it is great for us that he will be still training with Bradford too.

“He’ll provide us with some good cover in the back-row while our injuries get ironed out. He’s strong going forward and aggressive in defence.”
