Jamie Foster has been dealt a devastating injury blow which could keep him on the sidelines for several months.

The Bulls winger ruptured a pectoral muscle in a tackle during the early stages of Sunday’s Tetley’s Challenge Cup win at Rochdale.

It was revealed his tendon had ripped off the bone and he will see a specialist in Manchester today before undergoing surgery.

The former St Helens man is expected to be out for at least three months, and possibly longer.

Bulls coach Francis Cummins said: “Jamie’s injury has turned out to be bad one.

“He’s going to be out for a significant period of time and we’re in a situation now where we just have to regroup.

“There is an opportunity there for someone else now and the important thing is to get Jamie right for when he returns.”

Jamie Langley was struck down by a hamstring injury at Spotland and is also set for a period on the sidelines.

Cummins added: “Langers has a hamstring strain but we’re not down to the bare bones.

Michael Platt has done well in the past couple of games, Chev Walker was back to his best at the weekend and James Donaldson is vying for a spot too.”

Cummins could be boosted by the availability of Tom Olbison. after a shoulder injury, for Sunday’s trip to Warrington but Matty Blythe looks set to miss out again with a nagging back problem.

Meanwhile, the Bulls’ fifth-round Cup tie at London Broncos is set to be played at the Twickenham Stoop on Friday, May 10 with an 8pm kick-off.

The match cannot be played there on the Saturday or Sunday due to the Twickenham Sevens taking place over the weekend at rugby union's headquarters adjacent to the Stoop.
