Bradford Bulls to play St Helens on Saturday, Feburary 23
6:00pm Wednesday 30th January 2013 in Bulls
By Ross Heppenstall, Bradford Bulls Reporter
The Bulls have been refused permission to play their Super League home game against St Helens on the same night as the World Club Challenge.
The Bulls had wanted to switch the game from Sunday, February 24 to avoid a clash with Bradford City's appearance in the League Cup final at Wembley and felt they would draw a bigger crowd on the Friday.
The Rugby Football League turned down the club's application to go up against Leeds Rhinos' clash with Australian champions Melbourne Storm at Headingley and today they lost their appeal to the RFL's board of directors.
"The World Club Challenge has always been a stand-alone fixture," said an RFL spokesman.
"The board asked for more information from Bradford to support their appeal but nothing was forthcoming so they took a decision based on the information they already had."

Personally, gutted. I'm away this weekend and will also be away that weekend, not getting back until late on Saturday. Will have to wait and wait for my Odsal fix!
Best of luck to City. Hope we can emulate you in the Challenge Cup.

So you are going to watch bulls Saturday and super city Sunday are you viking ?

See you all, Saturday at Odsal and to those of you going to Wembley, see you Sunday. COYB. GO CITY.
City, have nothing to loose, so could quite a easily bring the Cup back to Bradford.

£100k was always a scaremongering figure and nowhere near what the club will get. They will be lucky for any game to get 5k paying on the door on top of season ticket sales.

Got fed up with slagging off, landladies, expat supporters on City site. Decide to come over this side and have another go at the Bulls. What do I always say to you, when it's Bulls and money. Here you are.now get a life and go back to having a go at folk on City forum.
Your an idiot if you think the Bulls would lose £100k by playing the game on a Saturday, that would mean 5k paying adult supports wouldn't turn up. The Bulls don't even have that many pay on the day supporters in the first place.

TVOR, firstly I'm no idiot, never once referring to any amounts of money, unlike you. To me wether they play Friday, Saturday, as it is, is immaterial to me. The £100k was mentioned by OK.On City site, I post under a different name on there, but I can assure you it wasn't me having ago at you. I agree season tkt holders at first, although, I do think three was too many. I took two, for the match.

My dear friend, not, I was referring to TVOR, re landlady. FAKE. Not you. So You're WRONG again. Try reading first before putting gob into gear. This couldn't happen if tickets were simply sold enmass on general sale. 5k to 7k of tickets on general sale is easier to manage than 14k to 16k that would be on general sale if season ticket holders were only allowed 2 each.
One other point, we will get about 10k for the home match next week against Gillingham, so where are all these 20k who deserve tickets then?
